About Carly Borne
Carly is a commercial litigator with a wealth of experience advising clients in the Northwest in respect of a broad range of complex contractual disputes.
Carly has worked at highly regarded boutique commercial litigation practices in and around Manchester, developing strong commercial acumen and a tenacious approach to litigation.
Acting for clients in disputes typically allocated to the specialist lists of the High Court, she also supervises trainee solicitors conducting lower value county court claims. Her practice spans the property, construction, charity, banking, manufacturing, insurance, recruitment and healthcare sectors.
She has been involved in lengthy trials at court and final hearings in Arbitration and also appeals. Clients rely upon this experience to guide them through the entire litigation process and to help them make the right decisions strategically at the very outset of their dispute.
Working in partnership with clients, she assists them gather the right evidence to prepare the case for trial, engaging the services of e-disclosure providers, specialist counsel and expert witnesses as appropriate to ensure the case is advanced as robustly as possible, maximising the chance of a favourable outcome, either at trial or through a negotiated settlement.
Carly has organised and represented clients at successful mediations and without prejudice meetings, negotiating legally binding settlement agreements to resolve disputes without commencing court proceedings, avoiding significant expense. She has also represented clients in contested proceedings in the Land Tribunal. Clients value her pro-active friendly approach and accessibility.
Away from work she enjoys walking in the Lake District with friends and family.
