About Anna Barnes
Anna qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and has worked in the field of commercial litigation and dispute resolution since qualification.
Anna spent 16 years working in Manchester city centre commercial law firms before moving to a regional Cheshire firm in 2016 where she became a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution Team in 2018. Anna remained in that position for over 4 years until she joined Salehs LLP as Head of Commercial Dispute Resolution and Litigation in 2022.
Anna is tenacious and robust in fighting her clients’ corner when required but will always explore cost effective and pragmatic solutions where appropriate.
Anna is experienced in running cases through the High Court, the County Court and has represented clients in relation to matters that have progressed to the Court of Appeal.
Anna is an advocate of timely and appropriate Alternative Dispute Resolution and is experienced at negotiating favourable settlements for her clients at Mediations, Without Prejudice Meetings and in correspondence and dialogue with the opposing legal representatives.
Anna was a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 in 2021, 2022 and 2023 being noted as “a fighter coupled with tactical and commercial acumen” and as having “a wide range of litigation experience that she can apply to all range of disputes”.
Anna’s achievements include:

The recovery of a substantial commercial debt in excess of £100,000 on behalf of a local construction business

Robustly and successfully defended shareholders of a local business in relation to unfair prejudice proceedings resulting in a settlement more favourable than the case against them.

Successfully defended a claim for a breach of the terms of a Share Purchase Agreement

Brought proceedings against a former director for breach of restrictive covenants and making secret profits and successfully negotiated a favourable settlement for her client.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys supporting her children with their various sporting pursuits and spending time with friends and family.
