Pat is a Consultant Solicitor advising and representing clients on civil litigation/dispute resolution matters. Pat has acted for clients in a broad range of matters, with cases heard in many courts, including the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council.

Background & Experience

Pat has been practising law in private practice enthusiastically for 44 years. For the last 30 years, Pat has also taught Law on a part time basis at the 1824 University of Manchester.

Pat attended Sheffield University where he obtained a Law Degree, and subsequently was awarded a Masters and Doctorate at the 1824 University of Manchester. Pat also contributes to a leading text book on the topics of mediation and the court system.

During a long career, Pat set up five law practices and is delighted to be working now with Salehs Solicitors.

Expertise

Pat has taught land law, equity and insurance law at the 1824 University of Manchester and also practises in these areas. He is particularly interested in legal cases concerning property and land disputes, those concerning landlord and Tenants, contract law cases, professional negligence, shareholder and partnership cases and disputes regarding legal costs. He has excellent contacts and relationships with many Barristers and their Clerks across a range of disciplines.

Pat helps clients from all sectors of society, from individuals to businesses. His philosophy and mantra is summed up in the words of the Rudyard Kipling poem: “If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch, if all men count with you, but none too much; yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it.”

Outside of Work

Pat is proud of his roots and worked as a refuge collector and in a fish and chip shop over a period of many years to pay for his studies, where he learnt as much as he did at University. He is a keen gardener and his garden featured in the charity Wilmslow Wells open day attracting 428 visitors to raise monies for Wells in Africa. Pat has three greenhouses, two of which are dedicated to cacti plants and one to succulents. Pat is a passionate advocate for the underdog, particularly the homeless. Pat likes spending time on his Canal Boat, loves reading and is a Lay Preacher in the Church of England. He is a keen collector of Antiques.
