Anna Barnes is the Head of the Dispute Resolution Team at Salehs LLP. Anna has over 20 years’ experience in commercial business disputes and resolution. Anna was a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 in 2021, 2022 and 2023, being noted as “a fighter coupled with tactical and commercial acumen” and “having a wide range of litigation experience that she can apply to all range of disputes”.
Background & Experience
Anna studied law at the University of Durham and the College of Law, Chester, before commencing her training contract at a boutique commercial law firm in Manchester City Centre. Anna qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and worked in the commercial business dispute resolution teams of several Manchester City Centre commercial law firms for a further 14 years. In 2016, Anna joined a regional law firm in Cheshire and was appointed a partner and Head of Dispute Resolution in 2018, Anna continued in that role until 2022 when she joined Salehs LLP as Head of Dispute Resolution.
Expertise
Anna specialises in supporting business owners and directors through disputes and litigation. Anna is robust in her approach and will work hard to protect her clients’ rights. Anna has been involved in litigation on behalf of her clients in the County Court, the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Anna is aware of the disruption caused to businesses by disputes and litigation and is an advocate for timely and appropriate Alternative Dispute Resolution. Anna is experienced at negotiating favourable settlements for her clients at Mediation, Without Prejudice Meetings and in correspondence.
Anna is experienced and pragmatic and works with her clients to find cost effective resolutions to disputes.

Anna advises and supports a wide range of business owners and directors, from a variety of different sectors. She frequently works with owners of family run businesses and SMEs.
Outside of Work
Anna enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her children’s sporting pursuits – to that end, Anna has qualified as a netball coach and has volunteered her time to support a local project aimed at levelling out the playing opportunities in school rugby.
