Wills

Making a will may well be the most important document you sign in your life. Whether your needs are complex or simple, a properly drawn up will ensures that you benefit those who are important to you in the most tax efficient way possible.

Without a will, even if you are married or in a civil partnership, your estate may not pass as you might have expected. For unmarried couples, the outcome could be disastrous as assets must pass to blood relatives rather than to co-habitees. Second marriages where there are children from the first marriage can complicate the situation further. The simple solution is a will, the benefits of which are numerous:-

  • appointing executors/trustees of your own choice to administer your estate
  • appointing guardians for your children
  • choosing who is to receive your possessions or property, and in particular making specific gifts to individuals or charities
  • creating trusts for children or other family members
  • specifying funeral arrangements
  • mitigating inheritance tax liabilities

At Salehs we have extensive experience of preparing wills for people of all backgrounds, whether you have commercial or property interests, where there is a foreign element to your estate, or if you simply wish to protect those closest to you.
